On November 22, retired Humber professor and prolific author John Steckley published his 22nd book: Parrots: The Flock Among Us, Rock's Mills Press. While the book talks about parrots in general (e.g., 10 ways in which a parrot is different from a dog), emphasis is placed on the nine parrots who currently live in the Steckley household. Readers will learn about the amazing intelligence of these parrots, and this shows up in how they interact with each other and with their owners.
Advances in technology have redefined the concept of the workplace. Today, it’s possible to not only work from a home office but also from a plane, train, hotel room or coffee shop. While there is now greater flexibility around when, where, and how you can work, this increased availability also produces unique issues that need to be addressed. In this session, participants will focus on recent workplace trends and discuss the benefits and challenges of working remotely.
Humber's Sexual Assault and Sexual Violence Policy outlines the responsibility of Humber community members to prevent and respond to sexual violence. It is important that all students, staff and faculty familiarize themselves with the Sexual Assault and Sexual Violence Policy and Procedures which can be accessed here: humber.ca/policies/sexual-assault-and-sexual-violence-policy
