In an age of reconciliation, it’s important to understand how representation shapes points of view and actions so that we can avoid the problems caused by cultural appropriation. In this lecture, Jesse Wente will show how the history of Indigenous representation in popular culture, such as cinema and sports mascots, has been largely skewed by political/colonial ideology that continues to harm Indigenous people today. Mr. Wente will also discuss the recent Truth and Reconciliation Commission and explore how individuals can respond to its calls to action.

Humber College will be replacing the existing Purchase Card (P-card) business process, effective November 2017. This change is necessary as Bank of Montreal’s (BMO) Online Purchase Card reporting and approval system will cease to exist by the end of the calendar year.

Playing varsity sports at any age is a great accomplishment for an athlete, and for many, it's the pinnacle of hard work and dedication that started as early as they could walk. Competing at the varisty level requires student athletes to put in countless hours of extra effort, knowing that they are expected to deliver on the field of play as well as in the classroom. In the end, it's an experience that can be remembered and cherished long after playing careers are over.
