Bill Angelakos, Associate Dean, Design Programs, School of Applied Technology

October 12, 2016

I’d like to invite the Humber Community to join me in congratulating Bill Angelakos on his appointment as the new Dean for the Technology and Visual Arts Division at Georgian College effective December 12th. While I am very sad to see Bill leave Humber, I know that he will continue to be a key member of the Ontario College system in this new leadership role.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bill for his dedication and service to Humber over the last 12 years. In that time he has been a professor, program coordinator and Associate Dean with many notable accomplishments achieved under his leadership. These include:

  • Accreditation of the Civil Engineering program by the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board (CTAB);
  • Negotiation of key pathways such as one with Lawrence Technological University which will allow Architectural Technology graduates to be considered for their Masters program and; and one with Parul University that will allow their graduates a block transfer into the second year of the Sustainable Energy and Building Technology program here at Humber;
  • Introduction of curriculum-based inter-disciplinary student design capstone projects.

As a member of numerous cross-college teams, Bill also contributed to the development of initiatives including:

  • college-wide advising/retention strategies;
  • visioning for Humber’s new Centre for Technology and Innovation; and
  • development of the college's integrated energy master plan and it's link to curriculum.

Bill has contributed in many more ways and will continue to do so as he transitions from Humber to Georgian in the coming weeks.

Wishing you all the best in this new role Bill!
