Moriba Baker, Associate Dean, Social & Media Communications

It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Moriba Baker as the new Associate Dean, Social & Media Communications in the Faculty of Media and Creative Arts.

Moriba is an accomplished professor and administrator with experience that crosses postsecondary education and the non-profit sectors. His robust skillset includes marketing, strategy, project management, policy development, and conflict management. He was the Dean of Media, Culinary, Sport and Recreation, Business and Entrepreneurship at Canadore College and has taught at Yorkville University, Brock University, and the University of Trinidad and Tobago.

Moriba’s non-profit experience includes two years as president of the Tertiary Sport Association of Trinidad and Tobago, body governing university sports in the country, and almost-two years as the director of operations of MOBAK Foundation, which provides skills training and supports to at-risk youth.

An athlete with a background in sport management, Moriba's PhD studies are in social policy, and he possesses an MBA, LLB and BA. He serves on the board of the Neilson Park Creative Centre. Moriba’s first day at Humber was Tuesday, February 16.
