Thank You from the Bringing in the Bystander Team

Thank you to all the staff, faculty, and students who requested and/or participated in a Bringing in the Bystander sexual violence prevention and education training this year! Bringing in the Bystander participants learn about sexual violence, consent, rape culture, bystander intervention, and responding to disclosures; we are grateful for your recognition of this important learning and making room for us in your virtual classrooms, workspaces, etc. Some highlights from this year:

  • 26 sessions were hosted from May 2020 to April 2021
  • 717 participants were trained (a 49% increase from the 2019-2020 academic year)
  • We hosted twice the number of curricular sessions that we did in 2019-2020
  • Our University of New Brunswick Nursing Program placement students trained over 100 of their peers
