Did you know that more than half of Humber’s student population show up at our doorsteps with some previous college, university, or life/work experience?

Humber would like to recognize our transfer and mature students' hard work, sacrifices, and the tenacity it takes to be an adult learner in a post-secondary institution while juggling work, family, and other day-to-day obligations.

From October 17 to 21, the Student Mobility and Pathways office will be hosting its second annual Transfer Student Week festivities.

This year, nine campus partners are also taking part, making this event even more special.

Highlights of the week include:

• Transfer Student Athletic Social Night (Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend and cheer on our volleyball teams as they take on Durham College)
• A tour and a spider planting session at the Arboretum
• Free coffee for participants from Gourmet Express
• Discounts and more from the Humber Spa and Humber Campus Bookstore

By attending sessions over the course of the week and by sharing their #Humberishome stories, students will be entered into draws to win a variety of gift cards.

So next week, while in person, in virtual meetings, or on social, we ask that you give our transfer students the recognition they deserve.
