CIHW launches another exciting project this fall: Supporting Healthy Aging at Home: Universal Complex Design

In collaboration with the Faculty of Applied Sciences & Technology and the Faculty of Health & Life Sciences, the Centre for Innovation in Health & Wellness (CIHW) is bringing together students from Humber's Interior Design program to work with individuals in the paramedic, fire services, and OTA/PTA fields to tackle the challenge of designing for older adults to live healthily and independently at home.

This interdisciplinary and interprofessional learning opportunity will involve students working with their peers and industry professionals to design spaces that are health-centric, accessible for daily living and resilient for emergency situations.

As more people choose to age in their homes, we need environments that support health, independence, and safety at home. This workshop is one of the many projects that CIHW is leading that further solidifies our polytechnic approach - bringing together diverse perspectives to design innovative & practical real-world solutions through applied learning.

Many thanks to Professor Orla Keane and Program Coordinator James Bulger for collaborating with us. Stay tuned for more updates on this innovative project!
