New book from Humber Press gets nod from Governor General David Johnston

On Canada Day, Humber Press published Canada: Our Home and Native Land, the new children's book from Humber VP Alister Mathieson.

The book - an A-Z exploration of Canadian history and culture - has already received an endorsement from the country's Governor General His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston: "This is a marvelous book for young readers, both as a guide to school studies about Canada and simply for the joy of reading. The sequel to Canada: Our Road To Democracy, it tells stories of Canada in appealing fashion centred around each letter of the alphabet. The four animal characters that animate the book will draw in the young and the young at heart alike. I am certain that parents and grandparents will especially enjoy imitating the voices of the beaver, buffalo, goose and moose as they bring this story to life!"

Copies of Canada: Our Home and Native Land and Canada: Our Road to Democracy are available through Humber Press's online store - humber.ca/humberpressstore/ - with free shipping to Humber campus addresses
