Omar Malik, Manager, Integrated Client Technology

Technology Services is pleased to announce the appointment of Omar Malik as Manager, Integrated Client Technology.

The Manager, Integrated Client Technology is responsible for providing key technical services to enable employees, students, and guests to access and effectively use Humber’s computing resources.  Reporting to the Director of Technology Services, Omar will be responsible for the technology architecture, technology plans, and related operations for all client-facing technologies within the classroom and within the corporate environment.  This includes our learning management system (Blackboard), email, printing, desktop and mobile computing platforms, and for the provisioning and support of curriculum-specific software within the classroom. Omar will led a team of highly skilled and specialized technical staff to execute on the overall technology plan while working in collaboration with departments and schools to help deliver on Humber’s overall mission, vision, and strategy.

Omar brings to Humber over 18 years of experience in technology and management.  He was previously Manager, Information Technology (Head of IT) at Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, where he led the development of the organization’s first technology department and delivered on several key strategic projects.  Prior to his role at Royal College of Dental Surgeons, Omar held several roles including manager, supervisor, and systems administrator at several large Canadian Law firms.

Omar has a Bachelor of Computer Science from the Ryerson University and is a certified Project Management Professional.  In addition, Omar also holds several industry certifications in IT operational best practices and technology administration
