Dear colleagues,

Humber College will be launching an official University Page on LinkedIn on Monday, November 4, 2013. This will be another significant social media tool to help students make connections at every milestone from high school to Humber student to a successful graduate and fulfilling career.

The Humber LinkedIn page will be available to high school students, current students and alumni to explore what Humber has to offer, view and follow events and workshops available to students and alumni.

You can help by sharing information about networking events for the social media calendar for the upcoming months. The Humber LinkedIn page will be managed by the Marketing and Communications department and event information can be emailed to nadia.araujo@humber.ca.

We also ask that professors promote Humber's University page to their students. Some of the benefits students will find with Humber's page are:

• Humber's LinkedIn page is a great place to get regular updates about campus news and activities from the eight schools, to ask questions, and engage with potential students, the campus community and alumni.
• What kinds of leaders does Humber produce? From broadcasters to executives to entertainers, explore the notable alumni who have done great things since graduation.
• The page will display the diverse professional paths Humber's graduates have taken. See where they live and work, what they do, and even the skills they’ve acquired along the way to see what’s possible for you.
• Networking! Transform those brilliant, creative, hard-working people you met (or will meet) on campus into a lifelong professional network. Alumni can reconnect with former classmates, and students can cement relationships with current and future classmates.

One of the biggest benefits of the LinkedIn page to Humber is that we will now be able to highlight one of our most defining factors - our alumni. Profiles that list Humber as a current or past educational institute will automatically be added the college's page. Humber will also highlight some of notable graduates such as, Dina Pugliese, George Stroumboulopoulos, Anthony Longo and Debra DiGiovanni will be featured on the LinkedIn page.
