HLA@IFOA Chris Hedges Keynote Now Online

This year’s Humber Liberal Arts @IFOA conference, “Truth, Lies, and Manufacturing Memory,” was a tremendous success! At the end of October, we had 80 presenters from across the globe descend on Toronto for two days of academic events including dynamic panels and a thoughtful keynote with Pulitzer prize-winning author Chris Hedges. The keynote, “The Price of Truth in Journalism,” broke all previous attendance records. Many Humber faculty and students were able to attend, but if you missed it we have uploaded the full lecture to youtube thanks to the efforts of Sara Laux. See it here: youtube.com/watch?v=V36dzXoqguw We would like to thank all of our presenters and the entire IFOA team. From LAS we would like to especially thank Dean Paula Gouveia, Arl Viaje, Adriana Deluca, and Elena Tran. We would also like to thank the following dedicated faculty for their assistance in moderating the many diverse panels: Aileen Herman, Alena Papayanis, Alexander Shvarts, Barb Morris, Blake Lambert, Chris Irwin, Dean Glover, Doug Wright, Eufemia Fantetti, Jeoff Bull, Mark Whale, Nathan Radke, Prasad Bidaye, Tyler Shipley, and Wendy O’Brien. We look forward to next year’s conference on Social Justice and hope it will be just as engaging.
