First Year Experience (FYE) Leader
FYE Leaders are mentors for new students in their academic program that support their transition into university, build community, and help students connect with one another.
FYE Leaders offer pre-arrival support to new students during the summer, facilitate skill-building workshops and social activities in Fall/Winter, and provide important info to new students in MS Teams groups year-round.
Student Transition and Resource Team (START) Leader
START Leaders are student ambassadors for new students in the areas of student services, resources, and campus life. Year-round, they represent their program and the student population through campus tours, events, and outreach activities. During the academic year, START Leaders assist Student Recruitment in attracting applicants to the University.
Program Development Assistant
The Program Development Assistant helps to develop Student Life’s projects and initiatives in alignment with the department’s mission statement and learning outcomes. Responsibilities include developing materials for student leader training, creating workshop content and presentations for various Student Life programming, and researching best practices and new approaches.
Career Steps Workshop Series - Mastering the Art of Interviews
In this workshop you will learn:
- How to effectively prepare for a job interview.
- Tips and tricks on how to create a great first impression through body language, building rapport and clothing choices.
- How to best answer the most commonly asked interview questions.
- How to prepare for and answer difficult and behavioral interview questions.
Our workshops are CCR Certified! After attending any of the Career Steps Workshops, you can add your participation to your CCR.

Senior Peer Mentor
Do you want to work on campus and support first year students? This role is the perfect fit for you! Join the First Year Experience team and support first year students with their transition to Humber College. We will be hiring in March 2021 and you can join our session to learn more about becoming a peer mentor or senior peer mentor. If you are a first year student we have tons of interactive events planning for this semester that you can join for free.
