Dawn Macaulay is the Dean of Innovative Learning. She provides leadership to the teams that support faculty in designing, developing and delivering extraordinary student experiences, through in-person, hybrid or digital modes. Housed in the Centre for Innovative Learning, the Digital learning and Teaching excellence teams work with their counterparts in Program Planning Development and Renewal to promote a system of continuous improvement of our programs and our teaching practices.

Since joining Humber as a professor of psychology, Dawn has taken on increasingly complex roles. She became an advocate for the Recognition of Prior Learning during her time as a Program Coordinator. She has been part of many pan-institutional committees where she was tasked with providing insights about the needs of the academic division. Known for her collaborative style, Dawn revitalized the Degree Breadth committee and ensured representation and participation of each Faculty.

Dawn’s understanding of teaching and learning draws equally upon her background in cognitive psychology and her extensive teaching experience at institutions across Canada.  She is committed to supporting Humber’s vision to transform education in support of our students and our communities.
