Guillermo Acosta

Guillermo Acosta is a strategic manager with extensive experience and a proven record of success in the fields of post-secondary education, consumer products and high-technology services.



Over his 20-plus years in higher education, Guillermo has been a professor, program co-ordinator, director, associate dean and dean. He has also held a variety of industry management positions such as brand identity consultant, reengineering consultant, and trade marketing manager.

Guillermo’s areas of expertise include academic leadership, program development, in-classroom and online teaching, curriculum development, change management, innovation, strategic planning, corporate branding, process reengineering and implementation of integrated marketing campaigns.

He holds a BA in Business Administration from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello and an MBA specializing in Marketing from the Universidad Metropolitana in Venezuela. He currently leads a faculty of over 640 professors, 75 support staff, 17 administrators, and 48 full-time programs at Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning.

Outside of work, Guillermo has participated in several international development projects, including humanitarian relief in Indonesia, supporting small and medium entrepreneurs affected by the 2004 tsunami in Banda Aceh, as well as capacity-building projects in support of entrepreneurial women in Bangladesh, Indigenous communities in Guatemala and public-sector leadership in Bhutan.
