Password Protecting a Test in Ultra

What is ‘Password Protection’ in Blackboard? How does it work?

In Blackboard, you can set a password for students to use to access a test or survey. Titled “Access code”, this feature randomly generates a 6-digit code that are randomly generated by Blackboard and is not customizable. This feature allows you to add a layer of security to your assessments to control when students and groups take an assessment. Please keep in mind the following points:

  • Blackboard won’t automatically send out the access code to the students. Instructors and/or proctors will need to provide the code to the students.
  • Students can use the same code if they save the assessment and want to return later. Students don’t need the access code to view the grades and feedback you post.

Please watch the video below to learn more about password protection in Blackboard, or learn more by reading Anthology’s help article related to access codes and password protection of assessments.
