Certificate: Designing Accessible Digital Learning Materials (Course 3 of 3)

ICDC 003 is one of three courses in the Inclusive Curricular Design Certificate. This course will explore strategies for creating accessible digital learning materials for learners. Participants will relearn what they know about inclusion, learner variability and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). The microcredential features a short overview of accessibility, the legislation that protects it, and common essential guidelines. Faculty also become familiar with the technical skills needed to create accessible Word documents, PowerPoint presentations and PDFs. Throughout this course, they identify ways to address inclusion in their educational practice—particularly for learners with disabilities.

Facilitator: Laura Facciolo Effective feedback is one of the most powerful tools educators have to foster learner growth (Wiggins, 2012). However, the time and effort required to develop meaningful feedback can significantly impact its quality, ultimately resulting in negative outcomes for both educators and learners. This workshop will guide you through the process of using generative artificial intelligence (genAI) to optimize the learner feedback process. Participants should bring their own analytical rubrics—which will serve as the foundation for automated alignment—to this workshop. Together, we will use the “Glow-Grow” technique as a prompting strategy to guide the feedback of feedback statements within a structured framework.
