IIE 005 is one of five courses in the Culturally Inclusive Educator Certificate. This course will explore the experiences, challenges and strengths of Multilingual Language Learners in postsecondary classrooms. Faculty will engage in activities that encourage reflection on the complexity of language, identity and cognition and how it shapes one's perception of the world and of one's self. Additionally, faculty will consider the multifaceted factors influencing language acquisition and review strategies and techniques that support Multilingual Language Learners in college classrooms.

ICDC 003 is one of three courses in the Inclusive Curricular Design Certificate. This course will explore strategies for creating accessible digital learning materials for learners. Participants will relearn what they know about inclusion, learner variability and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). The microcredential features a short overview of accessibility, the legislation that protects it, and common essential guidelines. Faculty also become familiar with the technical skills needed to create accessible Word documents, PowerPoint presentations and PDFs. Throughout this course, they identify ways to address inclusion in their educational practice—particularly for learners with disabilities.

IIE 004 is one of five courses in the Culturally Inclusive Educator Certificate. This course will explore the experiences of internationally educated students in their transition to post-secondary academic life in Canada. Faculty will explore the layers of navigating language, cultural, academic, and social factors in this transition and examine the barriers and opportunities that impede or support this experience. By analyzing factors beyond academic life and nationality, participants will develop a integrated framework of actions to provide meaningful guidance to students in transition.

SFQ Season: Summer 2024
SFQs (Student Feedback Questionnaires) occur once every semester. Students access SFQs through a unique link sent to their Blackboard email. They can complete the questionnaire at any point within the specified time period. They can do it on their own time or use in-class time as provided by their instructor.
