2022 College and Community Innovation Program Award Recipients

Humber continues its journey to be a leading light in Polytechnic Research and Innovation.

Humber’s Office of Research and Innovation is delighted to announce the 2022 College and Community Innovation program award recipients. Please join us in congratulating our rock star researchers who received the highly competitive College and Community Social Innovation Fund (CCSIF) grants.

Heidi Siu and Francisca Burg-Feret, professors in the Faculty of Health Sciences & Wellness, received a CCSIF grant for their project “Partnering for health access: Developing an innovative health clinic” in collaboration with the Canadian Mental Health Association, Mennonite New Life Centre of Toronto, and St. Francis Table. This project is also supported by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).

Maria Jacome, professor in the Faculty of Applied Sciences & Technology, received a CCSIF grant for the project “Caring for the Thunderbird’s Nest: Geophysical and machine learning solutions to characterize and monitor inequitable exposures to ground and air pollution with Fort William First Nation” in collaboration with Fort William First Nation and the University of Toronto.

We are equally delighted to announce the success of our application for Humber’s new NSERC Mobilize Grant. This grant will replace the previous NSERC Engage grants and will be administered by Humber’s Office of Research & Innovation. Information workshops will be held shortly regarding applications for funding.

Humber continues its journey to be a leading light in Polytechnic Research and Innovation.
