Award Winning Faculty in the Department of English

Dear Humber colleagues,

I’m very happy to announce that Leanne Milech, one of our recently hired faculty in the Department of English, was just awarded the “Best Story by an Emerging Writer Award” in the Carter V. Cooper Short Fiction Competition. The award is a not insignificant sum of money as well as fully deserved recognition for Leanne as a talented, emerging fiction writer.

Details on the competition award can be found at theexilewriters.com/poetry-and-fiction-competitions.

This is evidence again of our faculty’s commitment to developing Canadian Literature as well as the dedication and creativity from many in the Humber literary community that goes into our Humber Literary Review.

Well done Leanne, and enjoy this win!

Acting Associate Dean, Department of English
