Boxes for Bahamas: Last Call for Items

In early September, Hurricane Dorian made landfall causing over $7-billion (USD) of damage. Across the Bahamas, the storm left at least 70,000 people homeless. An estimated 13,000 homes, constituting 45% of the homes on the Abacos and Grand Bahama, suffered severe damage or were completely destroyed.

Boxes for the Bahamas is an initiative facilitated by the BASE Humber with support of the LGBTQ+ Resource Centre that has been running throughout the semester for victims of Hurricane Dorian. The initiative will be coming to an end on December 2, 2019. We are still seeking donations for the following items:

  • First aid kits
  • Deodorant
  • Disposable cups
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Clothing (new/gently used)
  • Baby wipes
  • Sanitary pads
  • Manual air mattress
  • Soap/shampoo, etc.
  • Toothpaste
  • Baby formula
  • Baby bottles
