The Centre for Innovation in Health & Wellness (CIHW) is a leader of change in community health and wellness with a focus on bold and innovative thinking to support a healthier tomorrow for all.
CIHW’s areas of focus include Health Technology, Mental Health and Youth; Aging in Community; Technology and Dementia; Prevention of Chronic Diseases (Type 2 diabetes).
Some of our recently completed innovative projects include:
- Curriculum Assignment with FSCS and FAST: Using technology to support with aging and dementia
- CEWIL Grant: Integrating VR to enhance the quality of life of those affected by acquired brain injuries (ABI)
- Health Innovation Challenge: A yearly challenge involving interdisciplinary student teams and an industry partner to find new solutions to pressing health issues
- CIHW and Barrett CTI collaboration: Using 3D print technology to create custom splints for clients with mobility issues
- Curriculum Assignment with FHSW and FMCAD: Mental Health Innovation Pilot: Exploring new and AI technology to support mental well-being of youth
