It gives me great pleasure to share with our community that Rob Kilfoyle, Director of Public Safety and Emergency Management has been named Security Director of the Year for 2019 by Canadian Security magazine. Canadian Security magazine has been the leading publication for security professionals in Canada for the last 35 years.

A panel of security professionals from across the country reviewed the nation-wide submissions and determined that our own Rob Kilfoyle was this year’s winner! The submission for Rob highlighted his work ethic, his unwavering support of his staff, his dedication to the profession and his mission to create the safest space possible for students, faculty, and staff to study, work, and live. In their submission, the management team in Public Safety and Emergency Management also noted Rob’s engaging leadership style, his commitment to mentorship, loyalty, team spirit and his willingness to “walk the walk” as key factors as to why he so deserving of this award. Rob not only encouraged his staff to obtain a professional designation this past year, but he also worked towards and achieved that designation himself.
