The LGBTQ+ Resource Centre invites all Humber Polytechnic and University of Guelph-Humber staff and faculty to take part in our Display Your Pride contest — a fun and creative way to show your support for the 2SLGBTQ+ community! We encourage staff teams, departments, and offices to collaborate on their displays and celebrate Pride together. The contest begins on May 26 and submissions will be accepted until June 27. We encourage folks to create and showcase their displays early so they can be enjoyed throughout as much of Pride Month as possible.
Participants can enter under one of two fabulous categories:
- Eleganza Extravaganza – Show off your flair, creativity, and vibrant pride! This category is all about celebrating the Pride flags — from the classic rainbow to the trans, bi, and other identity-specific flags. Decorate your space with bold colours, flag displays, and all the fabulous touches that reflect the spirit of Pride.
- Queer/Trans Trailblazers – Celebrate the icons, changemakers, and movements that have shaped and continue to inspire the 2SLGBTQ+ community. Use your space to highlight the contributions of queer and trans activists, artists, leaders, or milestones in 2SLGBTQ+ history. Think posters, visuals, quotes, and creative tributes that honour the legacy and future of queer and trans excellence.
When entering your departments submission for the Display Your Pride contest please elect one team member to take photos of your area and make the submission for the team.
There will be one winner per category, each receiving a gift basket filled with assorted goodies to share as a team! Winners will be announced early July via the Communiqué and email.
