Drew Harvey, Associate Dean, Pathways Programs

It is with great pleasure that I announce that Drew Harvey has accepted the position of Associate Dean, Pathways Programs in the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences effective August 22, 2016. Drew comes to Humber after enjoying a very successful academic career at Conestoga College where he began his career as a faculty member teaching a variety of courses in General Arts and Science, Liberal Arts, Fitness and Health and Health Sciences. He spent several semesters coordinating the Fitness and Health Promotion Program at Conestoga before moving into the position of Interim Associate Chair in the School of Health Sciences during which he oversaw the development and implementation of Conestoga’s showcase general education course in student success and wellness.  In addition, he has been responsible for overseeing the development of innovative teaching and learning spaces and developing innovative education experiences focused on interactive and digital learning.

Prior to joining Conestoga, Drew spent many years teaching at Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Waterloo where he also worked as a Research Coordinator in the Cardio-Respiratory Lab, focusing on engaging students in meaningful research opportunities, securing research grants and disseminating research results.

He holds a Master of Science degree in Work Physiology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology both from the University of Waterloo.  Drew is also a Registered Kinesiologist and Registered Health and Exercise Professional, and founded the Healthy Weights Program in Waterloo that focused on the development of evidence based, online lifestyle wellness and mental health education modules.

On behalf of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the entire Humber community, let me extend my congratulations and say that we look forward to working with Drew on many new and exciting initiatives as he leads the General Arts and Science programs as well as the Dual Credit portfolio at Humber.
