This very special day happens annually on March 21 (symbolic of Trisomy 21), and is celebrated in 190 countries.
Today, we choose to learn about and uplift the Down syndrome community, and give recognition to the incredible accomplishments of people born with this condition, including Humber alumna Jessica Rotolo.
It is a time to come together and show support for one another, to combat stereotypes and discrimination, and instead focus on inclusion and equal access to opportunity for all. The 2025 theme is "Improve Our Support Systems," which brings attention to the challenges that people with Down syndrome and their families face in receiving proper care, education, and opportunities they deserve.
Show your support by wearing mismatched socks, spreading the word and signing the CDSS' petition, available here.
