Excellent Opportunity to Contribute to Ontario's Road Safety Research

The Ministry of Transportation’s Road Safety Research Partnership Program (RSRPP) is now accepting proposals for the 2025-26 cycle.

The program provides grant funding to researchers in Ontario's public sector and non-profit organizations to explore and address key road safety challenges.

Why Participate?

  • Impactful Research: Contribute to Ontario's mission of being one of the safest jurisdictions globally by addressing road safety issues such as driver behavior, vehicle technology, and public safety policies.
  • Real-World Issues: Research findings influence provincial policies and programs, such as improved cognitive screening for senior drivers and stricter drinking-and-driving laws.
  • Funding Support: Receive up to $50,000 per year for projects with a maximum duration of three years.

Research Topics of Interest examples include:

  • Safeguarding against risks associated with heavy and electric vehicles.
  • Evaluating the safety of standing passengers on public transit.
  • Studying driver responses to advanced autonomous driving features.

Additional research areas can be proposed if they address critical road safety issues.

Note: This funding does not support infrastructure engineering projects.
