G Cottage to Become FIFA World Cup 26™ Volunteer Centre – Temporary Relocations at Lakeshore Campus

As part of Humber’s commitment to delivering unparalleled student opportunities that prepare them for success in a global context— and in our role as an Official Toronto World Cup 2026TM Host City Supporter—we are excited to announce that G Cottage at the Lakeshore Campus will be transformed into the FIFA World Cup 26TM Volunteer Centre for Toronto, beginning this October and continuing through to post-tournament next August.

To accommodate this exciting opportunity, the Longo Centre for Entrepreneurship (Longo CfE) and the Idea Lab will be temporarily relocated from G Cottage to the following locations at the Lakeshore Campus:

  • As of October 6, the Longo CfE will be moving to L3000.

  • The Idea Lab will be moving to H206 during the week of September 29. Photography will be supported through circulating camera kits; however, flash kits will not be available in the temporary studio space. Support for studio photography will be reinstated following the tournament. The podcast and music production studios will be combined into a single temporary audio recording space.  Watch the Communique and the Idea Lab website for updates on our reopening date.

Additionally, the availability of communal spaces for bookings will be impacted to support the Volunteer Centre's operations.

  • G Commons has ceased accepting new bookings and will become available following event completion in August 2026

  • All meeting rooms and the 4th-floor attic in the G Cottage have ceased accepting new bookings and will become available following the tournament in August 2026

  • L1017 has suspended new bookings for the period of April-August 2026 as it will be used for

Due to the hard work of the Longo CfE and Idea Lab team members, we currently do not anticipate any additional disruptions to the services that the Longo CfE and Idea Lab offer students. We appreciate their support and flexibility as we prepare to play a vital role in making FIFA World Cup 26™ a success in Toronto.
