As mentioned in the Humber Communiqué, we are offering all 2020 and 2021 graduates the opportunity to register for a 15-minute spot to commemorate their achievement by taking a photo in a gown in one of our mini grad booths, and we are looking for help to support the event.
The event will take place at the Toronto Congress Centre on Wednesday, November 3 and Thursday, November 4.
We are scheduling staff to work shifts from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and/or 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Please fill out your preference in the Doodle link - there is still time to sign up! As reminder, please receive approval from your manager prior to completing the Doodle.
Staff duties may include assisting graduates and guests with registration and verifying their appointment booking time, providing graduates with gowns and a stage credential, guiding graduates and guests to their photo booth, providing directional support and answering general enquiries, and other duties as assigned.
Personal Protective Equipment will be supplied and training will be provided at a later date.
As the pandemic has changed our in-person Convocation, it has also changed our convocation food options. Lunch and dinner options will be different and buffet-style will no longer be utilized. Sorry folks, we will have to wait a bit longer for Sheppard’s pie!
Lunch will be provided to staff working the day shift (one-hour lunch break). Similarly, dinner will be provided to staff working the evening shift (5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. dinner break). Please note: breakfast will not be provided, so please plan accordingly.
Staff are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the Toronto Congress Centre - parking is free. For those driving to the TCC, mileage will be paid accordingly. Instructions will be sent following the event.
More information about the event can be found on the Convocation website. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Rhonda Harrison or Tanya Reda.
