Humber’s New Professional Development Policy

Humber College has a new Professional Development Policy which was approved in November 2019 and will take effect beginning April 1, 2020. This policy outlines Humber’s commitment to investing in employees’ professional development in order to build capability and to support the effective delivery of an exceptional student experience. At the heart of this policy is the overarching principle of providing diverse and multi-layered programs and instruments that allow employees to meet their professional development needs and contribute to strong employee engagement. 

Some of the key changes to the policy include:

  • The Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) now provides a $500 monetary allowance for PT (admin, academic, partial-load and regular part-time support staff) employees, and
  • The new Post-secondary, Degree and Graduate Assistance Program (GAP), provides a scholarship allowance for full-time (admin, support, academic) employees up to 50 per cent of their annual tuition fees, up to $5,000 per year for a maximum of four years.
