Humber Polytechnic Council Highlights - January 2026

At its second meeting of the academic year, Humber Polytechnic Council (HPC) welcomed a presentation on Builders of Brilliance Teaching & Learning Innovation Projects by Jennifer Larson, Director, Academic Strategic Initiatives and updates on the year ahead for HPC by HPC’s Co-Chairs Fabian Marks and Regan Mancini.

Humber is generating and accelerating projects that push the boundaries of teaching and learning practices, enhance the student experience, and strengthen the impact of Humber’s education. Supported by the Teaching & Learning Innovation Fund, they are a core pillar of Humber’s 2023-2026 Academic Plan’s Reimagining Learning initiative.

Selected by an evaluation committee with representation from across Humber, projects are selected based on their:

  • Focus on Faculty and Student Collaboration
  • Project Plan
  • Alignment with Builders of Brilliance building blocks

HPC COUNCIL UPDATES
Regan Mancini & Fabian Marks, HPC Co-Chairs

HPC’s Terms of Reference (2019) was reviewed and an HPC TOR Review Committee formed with the purpose of updating our Terms of Reference for Board Approval in 2026. The Co-Chairs shared a summary of College Council structures and processes from four other Ontario colleges / polytechnics that will inform the review process.

HPC members selected the key topics for 2026 HPC presentations and discussions: Building Brilliance, Academic Program Changes, Financial Updates, Enrolment Updates, Structural changes, and Student Support Services.
