The International Development Institute Has Been Awarded Funding for Two New Projects

The Rideau Hall Foundation (RNH) and Universities Canada selected Humber Polytechnic as one of twenty-two Canadian post-secondary institutions for the $6.2 million 2025 Canadian Queen Elizabeth Jubilee Scholarships Program (QES) call for proposals. Projects under the QES program will provide study abroad, research, and internship opportunities for outbound Canadian students and support for inbound international students.

Humber Polytechnic students can apply to become Young Leaders for Climate Action in Bhutan while offering Bhutanese students the same opportunity in Canada.

Aligned with the theme of climate action and opportunities for students, Humber will support Kenya's blue economy, the Kenya Blue Economy Skills Training Program (KBEST).

KBEST-14 Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) aligns with Kenya's national priorities and KBEST's objectives. This initiative seeks to bridge skill gaps by recognizing competencies acquired through non-formal and informal learning. KBEST-14 RPL aims to enhance RPL to improve workforce development and employability for Kenyan youth, particularly adolescent girls and women, through blue economy skills training programs at Kenya's technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions to gain certification and industry-relevant skills to discover industry linkages and employment and self-employment pathways.
