Kelly Gray Bikes to Campus

Kelly Gray Bikes to Campus (all of them!)

Kelly Gray, a Technologist for the School of Applied Technology decided to put his own twist on “Bike to Campus Day” this past May 23rd. He often cycles to the North Campus from his home in Brampton but was on vacation that particular week, so he decided he would use the opportunity to bike to all of Humber’s locations!

He arrived at the Skilled Trades Centre on Carrier Drive at 8:35 a.m. and after a quick selfie rode to the North Campus getting there by 8:42. Next he set out for the Lakeshore Campus and just over an hour later was there.

The final leg of his journey was to Orangeville, which took him 4 hours and 25 minutes. The last 10-20km of his 100km ride for the day were the most difficult, since the Niagara Escarpment has an increase in elevation of about 150 meters over that stretch.

Kelly decided he had earned the right to ride the bus back home from Orangeville and perhaps lucky for him it rained the next day, allowing him some recovery time before his next journey.
