Every year on December 10, Human Rights Day is celebrated in Canada and around the world. It is the day the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. The Declaration proclaims that as fundamental rights, "all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights". Human rights are diverse, much like the world's population and the University of Guelph-Humber and Humber communities.
This selective reading list supports the many perspectives of human rights, including the writing of and about human rights from a variety of academic disciplines.
