New HLO Modules Available to all Students, Staff and Faculty

We're excited to announce the launch of My Employability Journey: HLOs - Optional Bonus Modules, now available to students and faculty on Blackboard and to staff on HRMS LEARN. These optional, self-guided modules are designed to help students develop key mindsets and employability skills represented by the Humber Learning Outcomes (HLOs). Faculty can also use them as an additional resource to integrate the HLO skills and mindsets into their courses. 

About the HLO Modules: 

  • Created by Humber Faculty and Staff: Developed by your colleagues to ensure relevance and practical application, these modules focus on the foundational concepts at the core of the HLOs. 
  • Flexible and Accessible: Participants can complete the 12 modules at their own pace, each taking approximately 60 minutes. A digital certificate is awarded for each completed module, allowing students to add these valuable skills to their resumes and profiles. 
  • Optional but Valuable: While participation is not mandatory, the modules are an additional tool to help integrate the HLOs into a student's learning journey. They support the development of real-world skills and help our graduates stand out in the job market. Faculty are encouraged to recommend them to students and, where applicable, incorporate them into their courses. 
  • Easy Access: The modules are available to students and faculty through My Employability Journey: HLOs Optional Bonus Modules on Blackboard, and to staff on HRMS LEARN. They will remain accessible for the duration of your time at Humber. 

The HLO modules are part of Humber's broader strategy to integrate employability skills and mindsets into all aspects of student learning, a key pillar in our Building Brilliance vision. By offering students the tools to develop these essential skills, we are preparing them for success in an ever-changing job market—helping them become adaptable, confident and career-ready graduates.
