Please see the research study notice below for information pertaining to two research studies being conducted throughout the winter semester at the University of Guelph-Humber. We would greatly appreciate your assistance in providing this information to interested students and members of faculty/staff of Humber College.

Research study notice: Two studies that are examining the recognition of faces require participants for around 45 minutes (per study). Participants in each study will be compensated with a $15 gift card. That’s an opportunity to earn $30 in gift cards.

One study involves deciding whether two photographs show the same person or different people, known as a matching task, and the other study involves examining photographs of celebrities for true likeness (i.e., which of two images show an accurate representation of a given celebrity). These studies have important applied implications for verification of identity (e.g., in scenarios where photo-ID is checked for accuracy) and better understanding how we recognize faces.

More details about each study will be emailed to interested students and members of faculty/staff. These details are provided in information letters, which will be attached to the email. Each interested student/staff/faculty is advised to read over each letter before proceeding to view schedules of available appointments. Please note that these studies are taking place at the University of Guelph-Humber on Humber College's North Campus.
