Testing of Mass Notification Systems During Holiday Break

Reminder of Testing  

As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of our community, the Department of Public Safety will be conducting its semi-annual testing of emergency messages during the holiday closure. Testing will take place at both the North and Lakeshore campuses on the following dates:

  • The North Campus - Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  
  • The Lakeshore Campus - Friday, December 26, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  

Testing includes the playing of emergency messages through the Public Address (PA) System, as well as displaying messages on Humber TV digital signage, desktop computers and emergency beacons, where located. The testing will take several hours to complete and includes the playing of audio messages through the PA system; therefore, testing will be disruptive. If you are planning to attend either campus during the closure to work, it is recommended that you do not attend on the testing dates.
