Join us in welcoming the Friendlier reusable container program to the North Campus!
As of June 19, 2023, blue Friendlier containers will replace green O2GO containers.
Friendlier has been active at the Lakeshore campus since Fall 2022 and has proven to be an effective and user-friendly solution for the Humber community. Welcoming Friendlier at North will assist Humber in its commitment to reduce waste on campus while aligning with the federal government’s ban on single-use plastics. Over 250,00 plastic food containers have avoided landfill since the launch of #ReuseHumber, the initiative supporting reusable container programs on campus.
How it works:
- Receive your meal in a friendlier container and pay a $0.50 or $1.00 refundable deposit
- Download the Friendlier app
- Scan the container using the Friendlier app, after enjoying your meal
- Return your container to one of the many blue Friendlier collection bins on campus
- Receive your deposit back within 1-2 weeks on the Friendlier app
Starting June 19, all meals at Street Café and the Staff Lounge will be served in Friendlier containers, and in the coming fall term, Friendlier will be available at a wider range of food service locations.
