The Spirituality and Wellness Centre (SWC) is looking for student volunteers.
The SWC at Humber is a safe, respectful, and inclusive space at North Campus where students can explore different cultures, religions and spiritualities. The purpose of the SWC is to give students the opportunity to engage in religion, spirituality, and secularism with a hands-on approach and through lived experiences. Essentially, the SWC will be used to improve overall student health and well-being.
Position summary:
This is a unique opportunity to be amongst the first ever volunteers for the new Spirituality and Wellness Centre at Humber College. As a student volunteer, you will get the hands-on opportunity to leverage your strengths through event planning, facilitation, social media, marketing, promotion and much more! You will also gain transferable skills that will benefit your personal development and growth.
The successful candidates will work collaboratively with other volunteers and report to Coordinator of the SWC. Volunteers should have a passion or interest in wellness, demonstrate leadership qualities, think innovatively, and have a strong understanding of EDI.
Volunteers will also be given the opportunity to assist other SSE groups such as Orientation and First-year experience (FYE) with event support.
All volunteers will receive:
- 5-10 hours+ per week to support the SWC (dependent on availability & requirement)
- Reference letter for employment and/or post-graduate applications
- Co-Curricular Record (CCR) credit
- Receive LinkedIn endorsements
- Receive honorarium after the completion of training and full volunteer term
