As part of its commitment to supporting institutional data literacy, Institutional Planning and Analysis is launching a new publication called Insights. This series will present Humber data and analysis on key topics related to the college’s strategic priorities and student success. Through one-page briefs, the aim of the new publication is to establish a common understanding about important institutional issues and topics using data.

Our first release of Insights includes two related reports:

1. The Institutional Cost of Student Attrition assessed the institutional cost of attrition associated with one cohort of degree students.
2. The Cost of Attrition to Students examined the financial cost to students of leaving a degree program prior to completion.

Due to overwhelming demand and the number of student personal trainers available for the Summer Semester 2019, we are only accepting registration for our wait list.

Student Personal Training
The student personal training program is a component of the educational preparation for students enrolled in the Fitness Diploma, Exercise Science postgraduate certificate and University of Guelph-Humber Kinesiology programs. Students provide personal training to members of the Humber and Guelph-Humber community, as well as members from our on-going partnership with Longo’s.

Personal Training Program and Participation Requirements 
This program is open to Humber students, faculty and staff, as well as industry partners and takes place in the Humber College Fitness Centre (North Campus). The fee is $75.00 for the program.

Fitness and Health Promotion Student Trainer
Must be able to commit to the program from May to August 2019.

Includes:

• A health screening and goal setting session
• Initial and final fitness assessment
• Development of a workout program specifically for you
• Two weekly student personal training sessions for one hour each (20 total)
• Start date would be mid-May
• Student trainers contact their clients during week 2-3 of the semester to introduce themselves and schedule their initial consultations with their assigned client
• Duration of program is 14 weeks (one initial consultation, one initial fitness assessment, 20 personal training sessions twice a week, one final assessment and one final consultation)
• Trainer availability depends on student course enrollment. Registration does not guarantee a trainer for the semester.

Humber has a Wearing of Kirpan Policy.

Humber College respects the rights of those that are baptized observers of Khalsa Sikhism and those who observe the Sikh religion to wear a kirpan as a part of their religious beliefs. The purpose of the policy is to provide guidelines for accommodating the kirpan on Humber’s campuses.
