Did you know that Student Life’s Leadership Program offers leadership workshops by request?
The Workshop By Request Program allows staff and faculty to easily request leadership workshops to be facilitated in the classroom or student training sessions by a professional staff member. Staff and faculty can select from the list of available workshop offerings, including:
- Personal Values & Ethics
- Leading Others & Group Dynamics
- Conflict Management
- Professionalism
- Assertive Communication
- Goal Setting
- The 5 Practices of Exemplary Leadership
- Bringing in the Bystander*
This is a great opportunity to enhance the curriculum, proactively provide additional skills and tools to students and to emphasize connections between leadership skills and their academic area of study. To create the best learning experience, we highly recommend that the faculty or staff member be present during the workshop to assist in facilitating questions that may arise and aid in bridging content with course material. To best facilitate this, we recommend connecting with the Coordinator, Leadership Programs to discuss tailored case studies and expectations for classroom participation during the interactive components.
Not sure if the workshop fits your curriculum or training goals? Staff and faculty can also request some customization of an already offered workshop in order to best fit the student group to which it will be delivered.

* This 2 hour training program will discuss how we can all play a role as active, positive bystanders and create a community that is safer from sexual and relationship violence. The program teaches bystanders how to safely intervene in instances where an incident may be occurring or where there may be risk. Through in-depth discussion of issues and common scenarios, participants come to understand how they play a part in proactively preventing sexual and relationship violence, and how they can help survivors get the help and support they need.
