With the start of the new school year brings the exciting start of the First Year Experience back to campus just in time to welcome all of our incoming first year students. FYE is a peer mentoring program for all first year students at Humber. First year students will have an opportunity to be a part of a group of five - 10 Mentees and the group will be led by an upper-year Peer Mentor. First year students within a Mentee group will be in the same academic program and have the chance to get connected, meet new people and improve their grades. Peer Mentors will organize online chats, get-togethers at the school, study groups and show students the best ways to get involved on campus and inform them about all of the FYE social activities and events on campus. Mentors are here to make sure students have the easiest transition possible into college life!
Do you teach a first-year course or Can we visit you?
We would love to visit classes to introduce the FYE program to first year students – no more than for a 5 minute visit - beginning the first week of school, if you would like an FYE rep to visit your class please connect with:

Trying to find a fun way to kick off the school year? Come to The Wishing Well with your students, colleagues, and friends and share your aspirations for the 2014-15 year.
Humber College's L Space Gallery and the artist collective Frog in Hand present The Wishing Well - a container of unlimited boundaries. A well is a source and an access point. It is a place of collection. Folklore outlines the importance of a well's blessing and some offerings have included weapons, money, and cherished items. In this iteration of a Wishing Well, it is simply the offering of each visitor's breath and the wish itself contained within a balloon. The exhibition will run during September with a dance performance and balloon ceremony during Culture Days on September 27th, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
