What: Join our Nature Interpreters to learn about the history of snowshoeing before trying it out for yourself! This is a weather premitting event, a winter hike will replace the snowshoes in the event there is no snow.

Cost: $7.90/person - $11.30/person *includes snowshoe rental OR $29.38/family - $42.94/family *includes snowshoe rental. All prices include HST. Family consists of 2 adults and 2 children.

WASTED ON THE YOUNG was written specifically for the 2011 graduating class of the Theatre Performance program, School of Creative and Performing Arts, by Governor General Award nominee David Yee and is directed by Nina Lee Aquino, Artistic Director of Cahoots Theatre.  The play, set in contemporary Toronto, tells the stories of an interrelated multicultural city through the lives of young people and their families.

Performed by the Theatre Performance graduates with design and technical support from the Theatre Production students, WASTED ON THE YOUNG will inaugurate the 2011 season in Humber�۪s new Black Box Theatre.

Humber School of Creative & Performing Arts faculty Hilario Duran, Luis Mario Ochoa and Steve Mancuso are all celebrated musicians who teach in the Music program at Humber. Latin Jazz Night will feature the Humber Latin Jazz Project, the Humber Latin Big Band and the Humber Hand Drumming Ensemble.

Humber College will host noted playwright and poet George Elliott Clark, who will be speaking on ���Who needs black (Canadian) history?�۝ as part of the President�۪s Lecture Series and Black History Month on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011.

His talk will focus on the importance of black history: ���Let�۪s consider how things got to be the way they are: Western Europe and North America are rich, Asia is trying to catch up, and Africa ��� and Africans ��� are on the sidelines. Yet, arguably, black history is world history.�۝
