In April the International Centre and the LinX pub hosted our first ever and very successful International Music Night, this gave International Students an opportunity to showcase their amazing talents (most for the first time) here in Canada.

Looking to build on the success of that event, the International Centre will be hosting a series of smaller yet more intimate music events that will continue to showcase the amazing and incredible musical talents and abilities of Humber International Students from all over the globe.

Starting May 26th and continuing once a month over the summer, International Student performers will be playing in the LRC Concourse from 4:00 – 4:30 p.m. The main goal of these performances is to not only showcase their own amazing talents but to also add to the already energetic weekend mood for the staff here in the LRC!

This month we are proud to introduce Adura June, a Culinary Student from Nigeria who loves her Soul music. Please join us in welcoming Adura to the LRC Concourse July 7th at 4:00 p.m.

If you are looking for more, these performers can be found once again starting in September as we look to build on our initial International Music Night Events!

For more questions or inquiries please contact our International Student Ambassador, rohit.sharma2@humber.ca

We hope that you enjoy!

Volunteers help plant the Humber Arboretum's Bird Garden

Learn how to plan a bird-friendly garden for your home and then help plant one for the community!

On Saturday, June 24th the Arb is hosting two events for the price of one - and the price of both is FREE.

First, you can join the Etobicoke Master Gardeners (EMG) inside the Centre for Urban Ecology to learn how to create a home garden that will attract and support local and migratory birds. This workshop is part of the Eco-Garden Community Workshop series hosted by the Etobicoke Master Gardeners and the Humber Arboretum throughout the year.

After the workshop we'll be holding a family-friendly community planting event on the grounds of the Humber Arboretum. Help put the final touches on the Tranquility Bird Garden that the Arboretum has been creating in partnership with Bird Studies Canada.

Come for one or both events!

When: Saturday June 24, 2017. The EMG Workshop starts at 10 a.m., the outdoor planting event starts at 11:30 a.m.
Where: Humber Arboretum, Centre for Urban Ecology (Directions

Both events are free but registration is required for the workshop as space is limited and is requested for the planting event to help us prepare.
