Once you have your research question developed, you need to figure out your methodological approach. Will you use quantitative or qualitative methods? What kind of evidence will you gather, and will it help you find out what you want to know? Do you need a comparison or control group? In this session, we will explore different research designs that are commonly used in Teaching and Learning Research projects.
This is the fourth event in the Humber Research Series, jointly offered by the Office of Applied Research and Innovation and the Centre for Teaching and Learning.
Participants are welcome to come to one session, a few sessions, or the entire Humber Research series.

Do you teach social media or use social media as a teaching tool?
Are you interested in learning more about teaching social media?
Whether your focus is teaching social media from a strategic viewpoint, applying best practice for social media platforms heavy on SEO and analytics, or using a Tumblr or WordPress blog as part of your class, let’s share our ideas. Social media’s constant changes challenge us to keep up. Let’s discuss ways we can enrich our learning and bring new approaches to teaching social media.
A key objective of our Community of Practice is to create a Social Media Lab. By leveraging the great knowledge base at Humber, we will become the focal point for social media technologies, strategies, analytics and research. Faculty and students will benefit in our contributing role towards digital literacy.
