Humber College will be holding a R.A.D. Self Defense Training session on June 24, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the North Campus in the Community Room (NX111). You will learn a basic introduction to self-defense and advanced escape methods.

It is a $500 training session BUT completely free for female Humber/Guelph-Humber students and staff! It will be a great workout and learning experience.

Humber is committed to equipping all employees with basic tools to effectively intervene and support students, co-workers, and members of the public who are experiencing mental health problems.

Learning Objectives

  • Improve your understanding of mental illness.
  • Minimize the fear and hesitation to become involved when you think someone is experiencing a mental health problem.
  • Develop simple and effective intervention strategies that are relevant to your role in the college.

This 2-day workshop is scheduled for June 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and June 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Note: Participants must attend both days for the certificate.
