Visit the Lakeshore campus for four unique activities as part of Humber’s participation in Doors Open Toronto.

  1. Humber’s Fashion Institute will be displaying the exhibit “Fashion through the Ages”, an engaging look into fashion trends of the past. Originally the old Almont Hotel, the building is now home to the Fashion Management degree and The Fashion Management & Promotions postgraduate certificate program. This year's exhibit will feature a collection of fashion from the past 100 years, including a select number of vintage athletic wear, women's swimsuits, golf attire and tennis ensembles in a tribute to the upcoming Pan Am games.
  2. Take a tour of the tunnel system underneath the Lakeshore campus with Humber professor Steve Bang (register at humbertour.eventbrite.ca). Professor Bang will lead visitors on an extensive tour through the tunnel system underneath Humber's historic Cottages, opened in 1889, and along the Lakeshore campus grounds. This informative and engaging tour will provide a glimpse into Lakeshore's past as the home of the Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital. Tours will be approximately 1 hour in length.
  3. Learn about the fascinating history of the Lakeshore grounds with a stop at the L Space Gallery’s exhibit “Visualizing Absence”. This immersive exhibit will bring to life the stories of the Lakeshore grounds by utilizing a variety of techniques such as image transferring, tracing, installation, film and sonic interpretation. This exhibition is presented in partnership with artist Anne Zbitnew and students from Humber's Arts Administration program. A free opening reception will take place from 3 pm to 5 pm on Saturday. The L Space Gallery will also be offering guided tours of Humber College's art collection at Noon & 2:00pm.
  4. Finally, put your CSI skills to the test with a visit to Humber’s Crime Scene Simulation Studio. Visitors will examine the crime scene, see the evidence, learn about the suspects, and try to solve the case (register at solvethecrime.eventbrite.ca).
