In this lecture, Steven Wise will discuss his work with the Nonhuman Rights Project. This organization has worked for decades to prepare a legal strategy intended to persuade courts and legislatures that at least some nonhuman animals, such as chimpanzees, elephants, and orcas, should be recognized as legal persons with certain fundamental legal rights.
