CTL: One-on-One Coaching

Coaching is a transformative, reflective process that can foster deep growth within us. One-on-one coaching for faculty at Humber is here! Delivered by faculty coaches, this service is a new opportunity to help you get to where you want to go. Whether you wish to enhance yourself inside of the classroom or out, coaching will help you become your personal best self. If you are faculty interested in receiving coaching in a one-on-one setting, this workshop will help you understand what the coaching process can look like for you!

CTL: Teacher as Coach

The art of teaching has transformed over the years and while we recognize it, we tend to hold onto familiar and traditional approaches that no longer fit today’s students, or effective learning strategies. No longer are we a person who passes on information, skill or even necessarily knowledge. Our focus has shifted to facilitating student learning while coaching students in diverse ways, and to support them to reach their full potential by empowering students to take ownership in their education. Join this interactive discussion on the role of “teacher as coach”.

CTL: Blackboard Online Strategies to Improve Academic Integrity

SafeAssign, the Blackboard equivalent of TurnItIn, can be used to encourage students to identify how to properly attribute sources rather than paraphrase or plagiarize. SafeAssign compares your submitted assignments against a set of academic papers and databases to identify areas of overlap. If you have a suggestion for a Blackboard workshop, please contact Mark at mark.ihnat@humber.ca.

Chart Your Own Course: A Session with Clarence Ford

The Business School Placement Centre would like you to join us as we host multi-talented innovator and visionary Clarence Ford for a compelling discussion about charting your own course to pursue inspiring work you love. Clarence Ford is a Toronto-based Director, Choreographer, Producer, Teacher, and Social Entrepreneur who has collaborated with celebrities, Fortune 500 brands, and sports franchises including:
  • James Brown
  • Cirque du Soleil
  • Stevie Wonder
  • MLSE

CTL: Blackboard Connect with Collaborate

Have you ever wanted to virtually invite a guest speaker to your classroom? Or hold virtual office hours? Or engage with your students in a virtual classroom?  With a laptop, a good quality webcam and Collaborate now you can do all of the above. Host a virtual session anytime within or outside of Blackboard and connect with your students. If you have a suggestion for a Blackboard workshop, please contact Mark at mark.ihnat@humber.ca.
