Humber Galleries is Changing to Serve you Better

Humber Galleries is changing to serve you better!

To enhance student learning and encourage more cross-collaboration between programs, community and industry, Humber Galleries will prioritize student work and professor/curriculum-driven content. We encourage students and professors across all programs to apply to have their work displayed prominently and professionally.

Humber is changing up our exhibition spaces and the way we think of them by animating and activating a wide variety of locations in all campuses. Imagine the campuses as canvases capable of sharing exciting content produced by our talented students, faculty and staff. A first example of this new way of thinking is the large wall in the atrium of the LRC at the North Campus (adjacent to Starbucks), which will continue to be activated to present work in a more open forum style (see image).

Four key locations to watch:

  • L Space Gallery, home to large installations and collaborations with external partners and artists.
  • Display cases at Lake and North
  • Large wall in the atrium of the LRC at the North Campus
  • Pop-up locations around campuses.

Humber Galleries is currently in the process of repurposing its six display cases at the Lakeshore and North campuses and identifying new pop-up spaces to promote student work from all Humber programs.

Current students and alumni are invited to submit examples of work they created while enrolled in a program at Humber College. If selected, the Humber Galleries team will install the work in one of the six display cases on campus.

Visit the Humber Galleries website to complete the application form by August 8, 2019.

Space will be pre-programmed by Humber Galleries staff over the remainder of the summer, and future presentations will be arranged by winter 2020 with direct involvement from current students and professors. Look out for future calls for submissions to get involved!
