Recipe from Michailla: Green Smoothie

This recipe comes from Michailla, a third-year student completing the Nutrition and Healthy Lifestyle program. She runs a food page on Instagram (@nutritioneats_) to share yummy recipes and connect with other foodies around the world.

This smoothie is super simple and tasty, and it’s such an easy way to get your greens in. You can also replace the fresh spinach and kale with frozen - that way you always have it on hand and limit any chance of spoiled greens!  

Ingredients:

  • handful of spinach⠀
  • handful of kale ⠀
  • 1/2 green apple⠀
  • 1/2 banana ⠀
  • 1 date (take the pit out)⠀
  • 1 cup of frozen mango and pineapple mix ( or half a cup of each) 
  • splash of orange juice 
  • splash of water ⠀
  • splash of mango juice ⠀

Method:

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. The amount of liquid may vary depending on how large your cup is and your preferred smoothie thickness. 
  2. Top with granola and goji berries or whatever toppings you would like!
